TASTING NOTES
Rich, deep purple in color. The wine showcases chocolaty aromas of blackberry pie, crushed dark cherry and rose petals. On the palate, the wine bursts with ripe blackberry, dark red fruits, baker’s chocolate, tobacco and plum. Laden with red cherry, plum and subtle oak, the wine finishes with velvety, plush tannins.

VINEYARD
The Ristow Estate Vineyard is located just south of the Stags Leap District in the eastern hillside of the Napa Valley. The rocky terrain of this south-facing vineyard produces Cabernet Sauvignon grapes of exceptional intensity and flavor.

VINIFICATION NOTES
In October 2005, ten tons of grapes were carefully selected from the most expressive four acre section of the Ristow Estate Vineyard. The wine was made at Laird Family Estate and only indigenous yeast was used during fermentation. Aged in 50% new French oak barrels for twenty four months, the wine was left on the lees for its time in barrel.  2005 Pedras was bottled unfiltered in July 2007 and will be released in August 2008.
