2014 Pedras Cabernet Sauvignon
WINEMAKER NOTES: Our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is wildly aromatic with effusive aromas of ripe blackberry, sweet spice and black licorice that lift out of the glass. The first sip seduces with juicy blackberry and ripe bing cherry wrapped in a fine layer of cassis and baking spice. This balanced wine offers generous mouth-feel, a decadent juicy core, with creamy oak that finishes with beautifully integrated tannins. Voluptuous and immediately approachable, yet its sturdy backbone shows this wine to be age worthy as well.
VINEYARD: Made from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes sourced from a historic vineyard in Rutherford close to the Silverado Trail.
VINTAGE NOTES: While California was in the midst of a severe drought, 2014 proved to be a fantastic year for Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. Parched soils received much needed rain in the spring and the summer months were warm but mild. Early bud break and verasion caused ripening and harvest to occur several weeks earlier than in years past.
