2015 Pedras Cabernet Sauvignon
WINEMAKER NOTES: From the stellar 2015 vintage, this wine is brimming with youthful aromas of fresh ripe blackberries and old-fashioned black licorice. Give it a moment to open up and you’ll be rewarded with complex aromas of boysenberry and cassis laced with subtle toasty oak. First sip is juicy, ripe and provocative; evoking the lush fruit flavors of late summer. The blackberry and licorice flavors evolve into a complex symphony of ripe fruit, baking spice and earthy notes. Concentrated, yet elegant and complex. This is the ultimate expression of a highly prized Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon.
VINEYARD: Made from 100% cabernet sauvignon grapes sourced from an historic vineyard in Rutherford close to the Silverado Trail.
VINTAGE NOTES: The 2015 growing season began with record setting rains in December, followed by the driest January on record. A mild winter with no hard freezes contributed to a very early budbreak. Late spring rains shattered the flowers, causing a reduction in crop size, which is Mother Nature’s way of thinning the crop. With a lighter crop the fruit ripened quickly and evenly, producing an early and stellar harvest.
